1989  JAMES W. BINGHAM  

Chemistry, science and math teacher at Bingham High (1943-1962)

Always proud of Bingham High and everywhere he went, he said he was “Bingham from Bingham”

He helped prepare the Mathematics Study Guide as well as the Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Science Study Guides used in the all Utah schools for many years

He was a meticulous and unforgettable teacher who became famous for having students discover an “unknown element” in his chemistry class

Served in the US Army during World War I

Founding director of the Utah Teachers Welfare Association

President of the Carbon County Teachers’ Association

President of the Utah Classroom Teachers Association
